Four AASECT & NBCC Continuing Education Units on Sex & Relationship Therapy

Making space for centering sexuality needs is a paradigm shift that’s necessary for every therapist to practice.

Sex therapy is a a deep and broad field which requires extensive training, supervision and support. And yet, every therapist will encounter client challenges associated with sex, gender and relationships, regardless of their training or modality.

In this 101 & 201 style workshop we’ll review the basics of sex and gender therapy including providing competent care to diverse identities, common interventions and strategies for addressing sexuality needs, and explore case examples.

* This workshop is geared towards care providers, although all are welcome to attend.

Learning Objectives

  • Attendees will leave with an overall understanding of the current therapeutic models and philosophies current in Sex Therapy
  • Attendees will understand some common presenting issues that bring folks to Sex Therapy as well as other issues that can arise in Sex Therapy
  • Attendees will learn about the current philosophy around assessment and diagnosis in Sex Therapy
  • Attendees will learn about some basic interventions common in Sex Therapy as well as analyze clinical case studies
