Join WoodWorks and Regional Director Chelsea Drenick, SE, for a networking event celebrating women who are driving innovation in wood projects in the Bay Area.

With Keynote Speakers Afsha Ali, AIA (Aedis Architects) and Mae R. Kawamoto, SE (Daedalus Structural Engineers) who will share about their mass timber classroom joint venture TimberQuest™.

Followed by networking & happy hour on the terrace.

 

We will follow the safety protocols of the venue.

SPEAKERS:

Afsha Ali, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, Senior Project Manager, Aedis Architects

Afsha is a licensed Architect in the State of California. She has over 20 years’ experience in designing and managing projects throughout the Bay area. Afsha sees every project as an opportunity to enhance the well-being of its users and create a positive impact on the whole community. She is currently involved in several mass timber projects and strongly believes that as an architect, she has a duty to minimize waste, and create healthy, sustainable and biophilic environments.

Mae R. Kawamoto, P.E., S.E., Principal, Daedalus Structural Engineering

With over 25 years’ experience as a structural engineer, Mae has designed and managed various structures including custom residences, public and private school buildings, community centers, public art and commercial buildings. Mae has a special interest in sustainable design and construction and is working to develop Daedalus’ commitment to SE2050, making her a natural thought and team leader on various mass timber projects.
